“Reflections” By Rene Saenger
I look up at the sky
And wonder why
Could it be me looking up at the stars?
Or twilight sitting down....
...to look at me.
And in its hour of judgment
Would it look at me or at
A mere reflection of me
walking by the lake.
And in my hour of need
Would it be Jesus
Looking down at me only to
Hold me up once
Letting me be me?

“Adam and Eve” By Mark Marable
Before winter was born
It covered the world with
Snow white winter chills
Before winter Adam was born
Then Eve, the tree of death
No one said Adam but Eve said
No anyway
Before winter was born she
bit the apple all over the
World death, but not everlasting
life.

“I love my Honey” by Cindy Mager-Donnelly
Tonight is the morning
Tonight is the night
Can I go the day without a fight
Verbal abuse
Man, that man is a terrible disgrace
Why does he drink?
Why does he fight?
I hold my breath with all my might.
I love him do much
I love him to the touch
Why does he do it?
This is a bust.....
He tortures me tomorrow
Of course I am filled with sorrow!!!
He is my friend
But why should I cry
If I had any sense I would just say...
......Good-bye
It can never happen
Even if I grieve
For sure I know...
...I will never leave

“Pure White, Jet Black” by Michael Belair
Fall has arrived
As the sun gives light upon
The trees that sprout,
Orange, Yellow, Red.
It has been said,
A rainbow gives off the bright colors
Thousands of leaves change
To our amazement...
...with arrangement.

“Times of Refreshing” by Vickey Bower
When I linger in your presence,
All my wants and wishes cease
From the toiling of a long day
Comes refreshing,
Comes release.
Gone the little disappointments
And the things which brought me pain,
In your presence I find solace
Strength to cope when hope seems vain.
Your aware of every struggle
From my doubts you set me free,
And the time becomes more precious
Which I spend on bended knee.

“Two Squirrels at Play” by Meredith Davidson
Me and my husband Fred
Watched two squirrels play,
I was so happy they seemed
so gay,
I loved it when came
out on our lawn to play,
They had the most elegant
Fur and tails of gray.

“Think Positive!” by
Suzanne Alswanger
When your discouraged and down
Look around, Think Positive!
When you're stressed out
Look about, Think Positive!
Don't get all out of shape and dented
Don't look down
Think Positive! and look around.
Don't be mad
Call your dad
Don't be angry, rejected or hurt
And keep your bad feelings inside.
Let things ride, Think Positive!
Don't think your not loved
You're as precious as a dove
Don't think you don't have any friends
You have friends to the end
If you just Think Positive!
If you think you're tired and depressed
Try to get some rest
Try to do your best
Think Positive!

“New Orleans” by Margarita
Collazo
You stand and look beyond mist
to see a church you cannot see.
It''s so cloudy and foggy
at the same time
the mist wants you to see
what it is in New Orleans
that light will not let you know.
You stand and stare till you see
what is really there
what is not a vision
not your imagination going wild.
It is a Church beyond the gates.

“Untitled” by Margarita
Collazo
I rub my eye again
sticking to the window are patches of snow
The sun shines on snow in little crystals
all land and trees glisten bright.
The world is as quiet as snowflakes
hitting a window pane.
The silence of snow!
Brooks and creeks are covered white shining in early morning light
I rub my eye again and again
Patches of snow stick to the pane
The sun shines on the snow, makes little crystals,
Now land and trees glisten bright
shining in early morning light.
Brooks and creeks are covered in white,
Listen: The world is as quiet
as snowflakes hitting a window.
The silence of snow!

“When Sunshine Comes Out” by
Meredith Davidson
When the Sunshine comes out I am as happy as can be.
God made the sun and it shines with radiant beauty over me.
I love God’s creation that warms the earth.
It gives the lovely trees, grass and flowers their rebirth.

“Untitled” by Connor
Hines
There is no place I would rather be
for I have found so many friends
at Laurel House
Would you believe it's not hard to see
people helping people
each and every day
Showing us what life can be a true friend
indeed, this gift is so true
Each day indeed a friend
to so many
A friend in need, a friend indeed
My friends are you.
