The Laurel House Treasure Hunters Thrift Store
Conveniently located at 501 Summer Street in downtown Stamford Connecticut, the Laurel House Thrift Store is open to the general public and carries a wide array of gently used furniture, clothing and household items at affordable prices. Our Thrift Store relies on contributions from donors throughout lower Fairfield County Connecticut. We will gladly pick up large donations from home or office (subject to availability of truck and driver) and we also accept items at the store.
Laurel House is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, so your donation of goods to our Thrift Store is tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law. All donated items are re-sold to the public or provided to Laurel House clients for a nominal fee. Proceeds from the store support the operation of the Thrift Store and hands-on learning opportunities provided to our participants in mental health recovery.
As part of Laurel House’s mental health programs, clients work side-by-side with community volunteers in every aspect of the Thrift Store operations, including sales, pricing, inventory care and display, pick-ups, deliveries, and storefront maintenance. The thrift store provides an ideal opportunity for our clients to develop and strengthen skills that will benefit them in a paying job, while working with the public and volunteers.
The Laurel House Thrift Store is open from 10 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday and from 10 AM to 3 PM Saturday. To schedule a pickup or inquire about volunteering opportunities, please call us at (203) 327-7334. We look forward to seeing you at the store!
Our pick up service is focused on large furniture donations that will benefit our program participants and does not include appliances such as dishwashers, refrigerators, stove/ovens, tube TVs, washers, and dryers.
