First County Bank Foundation Grants $310,750 to Stamford Nonprofits

STAMFORD, CT – First County Bank Foundation is pleased to announce that it recently awarded Stamford-based nonprofit groups a total of $310,750 in grants to support these organizations with their mission to provide needed services in our local communities. First County Bank Foundation has awarded individual grants worth over $8.5 million since its inception in 2001.

“First County Bank Foundation is proud to support community-based nonprofit groups which supply essential services such as food, shelter and educational programs to those in the communities they serve,” said Reyno A. The following Stamford-based nonprofit organizations received First County Bank Foundation grants in 2018: Jewish War Veterans Scholarship- COTY; Children’s Learning Centers of Fairfield County; Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling & Education; Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut, Inc.; Domestic Violence Crisis Center; Elayne and James Schoke Jewish Family Services of Fairfield County; Exchange Club Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse of Southern CT, Inc.; The Ferguson Library; Future 5; Housing Development Fund; Inspirica, Inc.; Mill River Park Collaborative; Stamford Center for the Arts; Stamford Public Education Foundation (SPEF); Stamford Senior Center, Inc.; Women’s Business Development Council, Inc.; Women’s Mentoring Network, Inc.; ARI of Connecticut, Inc.; Boys & Girls Club of Stamford; Building One Community; Domus Kids, Inc.; Laurel House, Inc.; New Neighborhoods, Inc.; Pacific House; Saint Joseph Parenting Center; SoundWaters, Inc.; Stamford Emergency Medical Services, Inc.; The Salvation Army of Stamford; Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens; JCC of Stamford; Silver Source, Inc.; Starfish Connection, Inc.; United Way of Western CT- Stamford; The Food Bank of Fairfield County; Stamford Hospital Foundation; Stamford Museum & Nature Center and Fairfield County Hospice House.

To be eligible for First County Bank Foundation grants, organizations must have nonprofit tax exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; be located in Stamford, Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Westport or Fairfield; have community support; address community needs; have measurable outcomes; and demonstrate fiscal and administrative responsibility. Special consideration is given to those agencies or programs benefiting low to moderate income populations.
