Treasure Hunters thrift store

Conveniently located in downtown Stamford Connecticut at 501 Summer Street, the Laurel House Treasure Hunters thrift store is open to the general public and carries a wide array of gently used furniture, clothing and household items at affordable prices. Treasure Hunters relies on contributions from donors throughout lower Fairfield County Connecticut. We gladly pick up large donations from homes and offices (subject to availability of truck and driver) and we also accept items at the store.

Laurel House, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so your donation of goods to Treasure Hunters is tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law. All donated items are re-sold to the public or provided to Laurel House housing residents for a nominal fee. Proceeds from the store support the operation of the thrift store and hands-on learning opportunities are provided to Laurel House program participants in mental health recovery programs.

Laurel House program participants work side-by-side with Laurel House staff and community volunteers in every aspect of the thrift store operations, including customer service, sales, pricing, inventory care and display and pickups. The Treasure Hunters thrift store provides an ideal opportunity for our program participants to develop and strengthen skills that will later benefit them in a competitive, paying job, while working with the public and volunteers.

The thrift store is open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday, and from 10am to 3pm Saturday. To schedule a pickup or inquire about volunteering opportunities, please call (203) 327-7334.

Our pickup service is focused on large furniture donations that will benefit our program participants and does not include the following: Books, Dishwashers, Exercise equipment, Mattresses and Box Springs, Refrigerators, Skis and Sporting Equipment, Medical Equipment, Motorized Wheelchairs and Scooters, Stained clothing, Stove/Ovens, Tube TVs, Typewriters, Washers/Dryers and Fold Out Sleeper Sofas.
