Laurel House volunteer Betsy Varian has been selected by The Volunteer Center of United Way of Western CT as the Outstanding Established Adult Volunteer for the 2014 Stamford Volunteer Recognition Day. This is a significant honor and is a testament to the countless hours Betsy has dedicated to Laurel House program participants. The Volunteer Center Committee was impressed by her commitment to facilitate the weekly Writers' Workshop for over 2 years and her dedication to the success of the participants she tutors in the Laurel House Supported Education Program.

The event to honor Betsy and the other recipients of this year’s awards will take place on Friday, January 9th at 8:30 am at the Harry Bennett Branch of the Ferguson Library (115 Vine Road, Stamford).
