Planned Giving provides a way through estate planning to support Laurel House and Mental Health Recovery in an impactful way, ensuring your continued contribution to improving the lives of Laurel House program participants.

Your financial planner, tax advisor or attorney is the best person to give you advice about your planned giving but you can also contact Development@laurelhouse.net or 203-324-7735 regarding how to leave a legacy gift to Laurel House.

You can leave a lasting legacy in your name or honoring your family by simply designating Laurel House in your will.  That is the method that most of our legacy donors have used.  Following are some other options for planned giving:

  • make a gift of appreciated stock (view our instructions for transferring stock PDF);
  • life insurance policy may create estate tax deductions;
  • retirement plan (e.g., IRA, 401k) or property;
  • enjoy the tax benefits of a charitable contribution to Laurel House while continuing to receive income from your gift in the form of an annuity or other financial instrument;

Your gift can be directed to general operations or to specific programs and services such as Supported Education, Supported Employment, Thinking Well (Cognitive Remediation) or Supported Housing.

Thank you for considering Laurel House among your philanthropic priorities and for helping us sustain our mission in the years ahead to serve those living with serious mental illness.
